The Student mindset

As we talked, she shared several ideas I could add to my snacks brand. Every suggestion was practical, creative, and well thought out. If you listened to her, you'd assume she was already running a successful business.
Curious, I paused and asked, "So, what business are you into?"
She smiled and replied, "None."
"Why?"
Her answer was one I've heard from many students:
"I need to focus on my academics. School is already stressful enough."
I paused for a moment and said, "You can actually do both."
She quickly responded, "But I'm a science student. I can't cope."
That conversation stayed with me.
If you have time to scroll through social media for hours, watch movies, or spend long periods on your phone, you also have time to learn a skill, build a small business, or create something meaningful.
I'm not saying you should neglect your studies. The goal isn't to choose between academics and growth—it's to make good use of the little time you already have.
Your degree is important, but the skills, experience, and network you build while in school can shape your life long after graduation.
Don't wait until you graduate before you start preparing for life after school.
What do you think? Can students successfully balance academics and building something on the side?
